Tudor House Project

A few weeks ago, Jiawen came home from school with a history project – make a Tudor House.  This kind of thing just ain’t my forte.  I started Googling to get ideas on how to make the Tudor House.  I was amazed at how many links and ideas you can find in the internet!  Amazing.

Well this was what we got to:

Stacked two rectangular boxes on top of each other with the bigger on on the top.  This is because the Tudor houses had larger top storey.  Tape the two boxes together.

Got some plastic sheets (actually cut out from fake DVD covers) and drew criss-cross lines for the windows.  Folded pieces of paper to make the borders of the window just to give a more 3D effect.

Paper-mashed the entire house.

I went to buy balsa wood (think plywood sheets) from the school supply shop and made it into a roof.

Painted the roof.  Don’t know how but we managed to get this mossy colour which was perfect for the roof.

Painted black stripes (wooden columns)

Drew “tiles” on the roof
